The story of Pip
Pip is a hedgehog. Small, stubborn, and determinedly unhurried — spiky on the outside, soft on the inside, and completely unbothered by how long the journey takes.
We named our AI tutor after that spirit because it's exactly what the students we serve need: someone who won't give up on them, won't rush them, and won't pretend the path is easier than it is.
Hedgehogs don't sprint. They move at their own pace, navigate obstacles quietly, and always find a way through. That felt right for a tutor built for students who've been told, in one way or another, that they're too slow, too difficult, or too different.
Pip doesn't care if it takes ten attempts. She'll ask the question a different way. She'll try a different angle. She'll wait. She's got time — and she believes you'll get there.

Matt Hill
Education & Growth
Matt began his career in the City of London, rising to become one of the youngest Executive Directors at UBS. After a successful decade in finance, he followed his true calling — education — completing his PGCE and teaching mathematics in the state school system. Matt brings a rare combination of commercial acumen and frontline classroom experience, understanding both what schools need and how students actually learn.
Mark Brantingham
Strategy & Finance
Mark is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with a Big Four firm before building a career spanning senior leadership in both private and public sectors. His experience includes audit management of a top-10 building society, financial stewardship of a major public sector organisation, and the development and successful sale of an award-winning financial services company. Mark ensures Educ8 is built on sound commercial foundations.
Bernt Hiddema
Technology & Product
Bernt is a serial builder and problem solver who began his career as an automation engineer in process manufacturing. After a decade in industry, he moved into AI-driven software — applying machine learning and agentic systems to complex industrial challenges. His journey to education came naturally — driven by watching his own children grow, witnessing the pandemic's impact on learning, and a conviction that the same intelligent systems transforming industry can transform how we teach.
